Real Sociedad might prove harder to beat for Manchester United.Preview: Moyes tasked to get third time lucky against Spanish opposition at home

One of the venues that will attract the most number of spectators this Wednesday is Old Trafford. One man, in particular, will come under the spotlight: Who else but Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor, David Moyes?

The former Everton manager is not enjoying the best of adventures with the Red Devils. This has led man Manchester United fans to call for his resignation or sacking while Fergie continues to be sorely missed. Regardless of the panic caused due to unconvincing results in the Premier League and Champions League, Moyes has asked supporters to remain hopeful.

Real Sociedad have already allowed four goals in the tournament (two at home to Shakhtar Donetsk and two away to Bayer Leverkusen) and Man United are looking to further embarrass the Spanish outfit.

“There have been periods of excellent play, we could have scored a few more goals, but we're training hard and I'm sure the goals will start flowing soon,” Moyes told UEFA.com as he analysed his team’s play this season.

Referring to their 1-1 draw in Ukraine on Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League, the coach continued:

“We'd have started even better if we'd taken all three points in Donetsk but it wasn't a bad point away from home. We'll keep trying to win our games; it's a great competition and it's very important to play well.

“It's also important to win your home games, which is what we'll be trying to do against Sociedad.

“I think it [Old Trafford] is a big place to come but it's also enjoyable. It's a great stadium to play at, though I hope they don't enjoy it too much!”

Adnan Januzaj might have a spot in Manchester United’s starting line-up while Tom Cleverley and striker Danny Welbeck could also feature. A win for Moyes is a must to calm down the nerves of supporters but facts remind that Manchester United have lost both of their last two games against Spanish oppositions in Europe.

They first went down 3-2 to Athletic Bilbao in the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League, then fell 2-1 to Real Madrid last season. Are we win for a correction of these negative results, or a third upset in a row of Man United this Wednesday?
