The Reds triumphed 3-2 at Anfield the last time they hosted Palace. What will happen nine years later, on Matchday 7 of the Premier League? Watch Liverpool vs Crystal Palace live on October 5, 2013.

Liverpool have not played at home to Crystal Palace since 2004. Preview: Climbing back on top of the EPL is the Reds’ ambition

Things are looking good for Liverpool in the English Premier League. With no European cup matches to play in midweek and the Capital One Cup out of the way already, the Reds have a physical advantage over other teams.

As if glory had deserted Manchester to land at Merseyside, Liverpool seat in the Top Four like city rivals Everton. Brendan Rodgers’ side could rocket to the top of the table for at least 24 hours as current league leaders Arsenal only play on Sunday.

As of now, Liverpool count 13 points, a couple less than the Gunners. To appropriate themselves with the top spot, they would need to defeat Crystal Palace. The latter are having a hard time in England’s top-tier competition. They are early contenders for relegation tickets, having lost five of their six matches.

With five goals, Daniel Sturridge leads the top scorers chart in the EPL. The striker is poised to inflict more misery on Palace who lost each of their last three games 2-0 (away to Manchester United and Southampton and at home to Swansea City).
