With Jurgen Klinsmann leading the USMNT into the Gold Cup on Tuesday, the Americans are considered to be a favorite to claim the title.

Preview: Up Against Belize, The USMNT Should Be Able To Put In A Convincing Performance

The USMNT was flying high after claiming three very important victories in their quest for a spot at the World Cup next year in Brazil. Going into their match against Belize on Tuesday, although with a different squad available, Klinsmann is confident that his players can leave a good impression in the tournament.

Having a mix of youth and experience in the squad will give the Americans a good balance. Players such as Landon Donovan and Oguchi Onyewu will be looking to claim the Gold Cup that got away from them in 2011 at the Rose Bowl, having fallen to Mexico 4-2.

Going up against Belize who is ranked 130 in FIFA's latest ranking will very likely not be the easiest of matches, but Americans are expected to come out on top.

This will be Belize's first participation in the Gold Cup, and it will be an incredible experience for their players, the coaching staff and their nation. The Jaguars have only two players that play outside of their country, while all the others take part in the semi-pro domestic league in Belize.

With American born Ian Mork in charge, Belize may have a good idea as to what to expect from Klinsmann's side on Tuesday night in Portland. Taking advantage of a USMNT that has only been together for a week or so could have the Belize players confident heading into this match, but dealing with a loud crowd at the JELD-WEN Field will be just another obstacle.

Playing their first match against eachother, both teams will be eager to get their Gold Cup campaign started. Belize will likely sit deep and soak up pressure, looking to take advantage of their counter-attack which will have Deon McCauley as the main focal point. As for Klinsmann's side, the longer the match goes on without an American goal, the more frustrated these players will get, especially knowing that failure to defeat Belize would be a monumental upset.
