The Nerazzurri will be looking for their sixth league victory on the trot when they take on a struggling Sampdoria at the San Siro on Wednesday.

Inter Milan have been in outstanding form of late and will be hoping to secure maximum points ahead of Saturday's top-of-the-table clash with league leaders Juventus.

Inter, who beat Bologna 3-1 on Sunday, will not only rate their chances of overcoming Sampdoria because of their recent run of form, but because their rivals have suffered four successive defeats, including a 1-0 home loss to Cagliari on the weekend.

Andrea Stramaccioni, Inter's young coach, has assembled a solid and hard-working side who have shown that they are capable of fighting for the honours this season, both on the domestic and international front.

Not only have Inter been in fine form in the Serie A, but they have also been rather consistent in the Europa League, even if flair is often lacking in their game.

For Wednesday's clash, Stramaccioni is likely to make a couple of modifications to his squad, with both Matias Silvestre and Fredy Guarin expected to return to the starting line-up.

Dutch international Wesley Sneijder continues to be triggered by injury, and will miss out on squad selection once again, but according to reports he could return to the fold in the coming weeks.

Despite Rodrigo Palacio's good scoring-rate, the equally efficient Diego Milito and Antonio Cassano will once again form Inter's deadly attacking partnership.

Ciro Ferrara's newly-promoted Sampdoria have struggled enormously in recent weeks, and are expected to be blown completely off the field by a red-hot Inter side.

Sampdoria's chances of picking up a positive result are rather remote, but even more so when considering that Ferrara will be unable to count with the services of Maximiliano Lopez and Nenad Krsticic.

The last time the sides met was back in February of 2011, with Inter claiming a comfortable 2-0 victory courtesy of goals from Sneijder and former player Samuel Eto'o.
