The out of form duo of Roma and Inter Milan will be desperate to return to winning ways when they lock horns in a clash that could go either way.
Both teams will be hoping to put an end to a negative patch with a boosting result in what is expected to be an intriguing encounter at Rome's Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.

After struggling to find their respective identities in recent outings, Roma and Inter alike will be looking to return to winning ways, as anything less than the three points could put an end to the title aspirations of either side.

Inter, who fought out a thrilling 4-4 draw with Palermo at the San Siro on Wednesday, have lost the plot in recent outings because prior to their 1-0 defeat away to lowly Lecce last Sunday they had won an impressive seven games on the trot.

The Nerazzurri appeared almost unstoppable prior to their barren run, but although they still remain with an outside chance of fighting for the Scudetto they are in a must-win situation on their visit to the Stadio Olimpico.

Roma, on the other hand, are unlikely to stand a chance for the Scudetto this term, but their possibilities of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League still remain intact.

The Giallorossi come into the game having suffered a disappointing 4-2 defeat to Cagliari, where their defensive frailties were clearly exposed. Luis Enrique, the coach of the side, will surely have to tighten up his defence is order to stand a chance against an Inter side that boast a lethal attack, where four-goal hero Diego Milito reigns supreme.

Inter boss Claudio Ranieri has confirmed that the Argentine scoring-machine will partner Italian international Giampaolo Pazzini in Inter's attack. But while Wesley Sneijder is in doubt for the game due to suffering a knock against Palermo, Diego Forlan and Dejan Stankovic have been discarded altogether.

Meanwhile, Enrique should be glad that Italian internationals Daniele De Rossi and powerful Argentine-born striker Daniel Osvaldo have recovered from injury. But while De Rossi could feature against Inter, Osvaldo still needs time.

Roma have a favourable historical advantage over their rivals at the Stadio Olimpico, with 31 wins, 20 draws and 27 defeats from 78 games. The last meeting between the sides ended in a goalless stalemate last September.

Do you think Roma will make it 32 wins on Sunday?

Prediction:

Roma 1-3 Inter
