Bayern, hanging on to the top of the table by a thread, will take on an HSV side coached by their former player.
Bayern has been playing poorly lately. Against Wolfsburg, they did win 2-0 and keep a clean sheet. However, they were very unconvincing. They scored the first goal in the only way that they know how to when they desperately require one- via Mario Gomez. The goal was messy but nonetheless kick-started the second half of the campaign.

The second goal was scored somewhat accidentally. Ivica Olic lobbed Diego Benaglio but had his effort cleared off the line by Ricardo Rodriguez. Rodriguez’s clearance came off Robben and crossed the line for a goal. Bayern’s attack looked toothless once more, perhaps because Jupp Heynckes decided to play Toni Kroos next to Bastian Schweinsteiger in defensive midfield.

Hamburg had not lost a Bundesliga match under Thorsten Fink since Match-day 18 when they were completely taken apart by Dortmund. They conceded five against the defending champions in their own backyard. Against Bayern, they had already conceded five at the Allianz Arena this season.

The game between these two sides in Bavaria was a highlight of the season for Bayern. They were 3-0 up before their fans could blink and added two more in the second half. Ivica Olic scored the final goal in that match to pile more misery on his former team. He is looking forward to a return to his former ground, where he was looked upon as a hero.

Daniel Van Buyten will not return to his former ground due to his current injury. Who Jupp Heynckes will play is beyond anyone. The five-some of Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Thomas Mueller, Franck Ribery and Robben did not really take the world by storm. May be it is time to bring Luis Gustavo into the side.

Thorsten Fink will perhaps feel strange having to set up his side against Bayern considering this is the club he featured for. His side won their most recent game against Hertha Berlin, 1-2. Fink will look to take advantage of Bayern’s under-fire defence. He will hope that Hamburg doesn’t concede five or more for the third game running against Bayern.

Who do you think will win? I think Bayern can get all three points from this one.

Prediction: HSV 1-2 Bayern
