Another week has gone by, bringing soccer fans in the USA a host of exciting games, ranging from the regulars such as Liga MX and the Premier League to La Liga and the CONCACAF W Gold Cup. However, to no one's surprise, one competition completed a clean sweep by taking the top three spots on the podium, which is the Mexican top flight.
Furthermore, all three games were covered by Univision, starting with Guadalajara's trip to Cruz Azul, the most-watched soccer game in the USA from February 26 to March 3, 2024. Nearly one million average viewers tuned in as Chivas suffered a rough 3-0 defeat at Estadio Azteca, tumbling further down the table as a result.
That 3-0 loss received a rating of 0.44, slightly edging out the next fixture on this list. That game was Club America's thrashing of Atlas, which garnered a rating of 0.42 and an average viewership of 906,000. Henry Martin scored a brace in this tie, as did Alejandro Zendejas, thus maintaining pace with the Clausura leaders.
Wrapping this up is another Liga MX match aired by Univision and that is Toluca's 2-1 victory over Tigres UANL on Saturday. This fixture earned 477,000 average viewers for Univision while earning a 0.22 rating, thus reminding fans of Liga MX's popularity in the United Stadium.
As for the MLS, Inter Miami's 5-0 demolition of Orlando City also made the list, but not the top three. Former Barcelona superstars Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez both scored twice each in this victory as 441,000 average viewers tuned in to Fox to watch the Florida derby.
