The English striker kicked off Spurs comeback, scoring their opening goal to help them fight back from two-nil down.

Harry Kane might have suffered heartbreak at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but the English superstar has picked up right where he left off in the Premier League.

The Tottenham striker captained his side on Boxing Day as Spurs took on Brentford in the early fixture in Matchweek 17. Unfortunately for the North London giants, their first game after the six-week break did not go as planned.

Conte's men struggled from the get-go and found themselves 1-0 down against the Bees after only 15 minutes courtesy of a Vitaly Janelt goal. Come the 54th minute, things went from bad to worse as Thomas Frank's men scored from a corner kick that Eric Dier cheaply gave away.

However, Spurs are the undisputed comeback kings under Conte and they showed why at the Gtech Community Stadium with the visitors clawing back to draw 2-2.

And who else but Harry Kane could have sparked this? The Three Lions sensation, who was controversially denied a penalty shortly before Brentford's second goal of the day, scored a brilliant header past David Raya just after the hour mark. Six minutes later, Spurs went level thanks to a Pierre-Emile Højbjerg goal.

And while Tottenham could have won that game and eventually came away with just a point, Kane can hold his head up high after making history. The 29-year-old set a brilliant Premier League, becoming the first player ever to score 10 goals on Boxing Day.

In fact, the striker has never failed to find the back of the net when playing on December 26 in the English top-flight, amassing this tally in seven games since 2014.

Nonetheless, it was a disappointing result for the club. Newcastle, who are a spot ahead in third, could move three points clear of fourth-placed Spurs while fifth-placed Man United could go within a point of Conte's men with a game in hand.
