Sneijder gives up on 11th hour move to Manchester United; Vidic out?

August 30, 2011 By Angela Asante
Wesley Sneijder believes his dream of joining Manchester United from Internazionale this summer is dead and buried.
“I'm staying at Inter. I don't think I'll leave at this moment of market,” said the Dutch playmaker on Tuesday to reporters.

“Manchester United? Anything is possible in football, but I don't think this time something will happen.

“I know that if I were to leave, it would have be for the right price. Inter were clear about that. However, I have not spoken formally with the two Manchester clubs.”

In other news related to Manchester United, Anzhi Makhchkala have given Ferguson something to sweat about. The Russian club, who captured Samuel Eto’o from Internazionale lately, are eyeing defender Nemanja Vidic according to rumors emerging from England.

Club owner and billionaire Suleyman Kerimou successfully brought Eto’o for £20M. Speculations now reveal that he wants Manchester United to accept a £25M bid for Vidic.

A week ago, Alex Ferguson reminded the Serbian and his colleague Rio Ferdinand that their places wasn’t guaranteed in the team’s starting XI due to the emergence of rising stars such as Phil Jones and Chris Smalling.

Could Nemanja Vidic stun football fans by fleeing to Anzhi Makhachkala? What will the last moments of the 2011 summer transfer window produce at the Theatre of Dreams?
