Why are Manchester United delaying in their hunt to sign Internazionale’s Wesley Sneijder?
Manchester United’s chances of signing Wesley Sneijder look extremely bright now. Local rivals Manchester City have downplayed links with the Dutch midfielder whereas Italian giants Internazionale have opened the door for any good offer. So why are the Red Devils not making any move at the moment?

As Wesley Sneijder confirmed on Tuesday, Manchester United are yet to make an official offer for the player’s services. They have, however, been in relation with Inter and Sneijder.

“There have been unofficial talks, there have been contacts but then there are always contacts. Yes [I’d love to join the Red Devils], but [Manchester] United haven't made an official approach yet.

“The situation is that I'm an Inter player and chances are I will still be come August 31. There is also a chance I could leave. That isn't really down to me but the club. Inter have been very clear. If a good offer comes in, they have to let me go.”

Recently, Paul Scholes—whose retirement is what has caused a hole in Manchester United’s midfield—endorsed Wesley Sneijder and described him as a “brilliant” player. The legend approved Sneijder’s competence and hinted that he would be a great addition to Ferguson’s squad as Tottenham and Netherlands midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart echoed:

“[The English Premier League] is the biggest league in the world and he [Wesley Sneijder] would fit in well at [Manchester] United.”

According to reports, Internazionale are looking at a transfer fee in the region of €35M to release the Dutch star. If Manchester United seem to be delaying to make an official bid, could the reason be about the money?

Time is running out and the transfer window will close in a few weeks’ time. Whereas some Manchester United fans fear that their club will miss out on the great opportunity of acquiring Wesley Sneijder’s services, Internazionale’s supporters are hoping the midfielder won’t quit the San Siro this summer.
