Micah Richards remains pessimistic about Manchester City's chances of coping well at the top level should Carlos Tevez leave the club this summer.
Manchester City are apparently planning ahead of a life without top striker Carlos Tevez. Although Tevez’s wish of quitting Eastlands suffered a huge setback following Corinthians’ failure to finalize a deal, it is still speculated that Tevez won’t be a Manchester City player come the 2011/2012 season.

But one person who has come out with pessimistic thoughts is Micah Richards. The defender has tipped superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the only players that could replace Carlos Tevez at Manchester City.

However, Micah Richards is also aware of how unlikely Messi and Ronaldo might leave their respective clubs to join City. Speaking to English media The Mirror:

“Carlos has been such an important part of this team over the last two years that he’s going to be virtually impossible to replace. I mean, how do you replace Carlos Tevez?

“Perhaps the only way to do it would be to sign [Lionel] Messi or [Cristiano] Ronaldo and I don’t think either of them will be leaving Barcelona or Real Madrid any time soon.”

Frustrated by current transfer matters involving Carlos Tevez, Micah Richards analyzed the competition between Manchester City and their rivals by saying the following:

“If you want to do well in the Premier League and in the Champions League then you need 3, 4, or even 5 really top strikers. But we’ve got to be honest. Losing Carlos will be a massive blow to the club.”

In the meantime, Argentine forward Sergio Aguero seems well on his way to becoming a Sky Blue player. Aguero was absent from Atletico Madrid’s latest training session only to increase talks surrounding his prospective switch to Manchester City.
