There could be worrying times ahead for the Citizens with the striker picking up a knock.

Manchester City have been handed a massive injury blow with lead striker Sergio Aguero limping off in Monday night's encounter with Burnley at the Etihad. The Citizens risk being without the 32-year-old striker for upcoming Premier League clashes with Chelsea and Liverpool and a and FA semi-final tie with Newcastle.

Aguero was forced off right on the stroke of half-time following after being hacked to the ground by Ben Mee in Burnley's penalty area. The attacker was subsequently awarded a penalty following a VAR check but was unable to take as he was perceivably in pain while he headed for the dugout. He was replaced with Gabriel Jesus with his side ultimately running away with a 5-0 win.

Guardiola looked very disappointed as the City marksman made his way past him, hinting at the player potentially spending some time on the sidelines. Although the extent of the injury remains unknown, the happening is ill-timed considering the fact that the Citizens have three crucial games coming up.

On Thursday, the current Premier League champions will travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea before take on Newcastle at the St James' Park in an FA Cup semi-final tie three days later. A home clash with Liverpool at home will follow the encounter with the Magpies.
