The England defender found himself in a serious mess by making a poor judgement.

A momentary lapse in concentration by Manchester United centerback Phil Jones was punished by Sheffield United in Sunday's clash at Brammel Lane. The Blades' Lys Mousset got the better of the English defender close to the Red Devil's penalty area and created the chance for his side's opener.

Chris Wilder's men successfully dominated the first 20 minutes of the proceeding, remaining resolute at the back and launching excessive attacks at Solskjaer's side. Having kept the likes of Marcus Rashford, Daniel James and Anthony Martial at bay in the opposite half, the host took the clearest of chances which presented itself out of the blue to take a deserved lead.

Inside the 18th minute, a pass intended for Lys Mousset failed to find him but the Benin international chase down the ball which was being shielded by Phil Jones. The former ultimately out-muscled the English defender close to Manchester United's penalty area after he felt hesitant to clear the ball away.

The 23-year-old striker then sent a low ball into the penalty area and the ball was eventually bundled home Fleck after De Gea had saved Lundstram's initial effort. Watch the goal below:
