The Spanish giants will have to work without one of their best players for what could be the rest of the season.

Real Madrid can't seem to get a break. Hours after their shocking 4-1 loss against Ajax, Los Blancos' coach Santiago Solari has been slammed with a new injury problem.

With Gareth Bale and Lucas Vázquez yet to be assessed by the team's medical staff, the Argentine coach will have to make do without Vinicius, who will be out for at least eight weeks due to a torn ligament in his right ankle.

The player is expected to return for the three final games of the season, which will also see him missing his first call up with the Brazilian National Team.

The 18-year-old footballer had been one of the best players for Real Madrid since he made his debut under Julen Lopetegui. The Brazilian ace did not disappoint fans, as he dazzled the team's supporters with his dribbling skills and accurate passes. Nevertheless, his efficiency in front of goal has been questioned by some fans and experts, especially after both Clásicos against Barcelona.

"Following the tests carried out today on our player, Vinicius Jr., by the Real Madrid medical department, he has been diagnosed with a ligament tear of the tibiofibular joint of the right leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed,"the press release issued by Real Madrid on their website states.

Vinicius is expected to be out for the next nine La Liga games. His projected return date would have him back to face Villarreal at the Bernabeu.
