The reasons for this go beyond the Red Devils' current injury crisis.

Later today, Man United will lock horns with PSG in a crucial Champions League game. The English giant is staring at a European exit after losing the first leg at Old Trafford 2-0.

In the remaining 90 minutes, the Red Devils must pull off an incredible comeback if they wish to make the quarter-finals. While the Premier League side has a history of doing exactly that and has been in excellent form under Solskjaer, the odds are not in their favor.

One factor is their huge injury crisis. Nine first-team players are on the sidelines and won't play any part in Wednesday's game, including the likes of Anthony Martial, Ander Herrera, Nemaja Matic, Jesse Lingard, and Juan Mata. Furthermore, Paul Pogba is suspended for this tie after being sent off in the first leg, leaving Ole with no choice but to call up several youngsters for the trip to Paris.

However, selection headache the only worrying factor. The fact that Mbappe and Co. were beaten by Guingamp in the Coupe de la Ligue is proof that an inspired performance can sway the odds. However, history suggests Man United will struggle to overturn the deficit.

The Old Trafford side has been in this situation in the Champions League before, three times to be precise. Man United lost the first-leg at home in a UEFA competition -- once in the Europa League and twice in the Champions League -- but failed to come back and was eventually eliminated.

However, the trip to the Parc des Princes is a new challenge. Solskjaer will not give up on making the last eight but a miracle is needed for that to occur.
