The Gunners' first offer for the Croatian winger has reportedly been thrown out.

English Premier League club Arsenal has seen a bid for Ivan Perisic rejected by Inter Milan. Unai Emery's side is reportedly keen on bringing the Croatian winger to the Emirates Stadium before the end of the winter transfer window.

With the Spanish manager confirming that the London club cannot sign players on a permanent basis due to the lack of funds, a bid to secure the service of the 29-year-old attacker on loan was submitted to Inter. Arsenal also included the obligation to buy the forward for 34 million pounds at the end of the season and was hoping the Nerrazzuri will consider the offer.

However, reports which emerged from Italy on Sunday indicate that the Gunners have had their bid turned down despite Inter Milan admitting that Perisic could leave in the coming days. According to Sky Sport, the Giuseppe Meazza outfit is holding out for a permanent deal for the winger.

The head coach of Inter Milan Luciano Spalletti, in an interview with Sky Italia, addressed Perisic's potential departure: "It's a player that has been talked about because everyone values him as much as we do, and if anyone wants to buy him they will need to pay him good money because we rate him a lot.

"He is a complete player on the pitch, he has every quality to succeed in his position. He makes runs, he is physically strong, he has good stamina and is a good assist man.

"He wasn't good enough to fulfill his skills this season, he could have done a bit more in terms of goals and assists, but he has these other qualities that he was able to take advantage of."

Ivan Perisic has so far managed three goals and five assists in 25 appearances for Inter Milan in the ongoing campaign. He was previously linked with a move to Manchester United during the tenure of Jose Mourinho.
