The Red Devils endured another shock defeat, this time, against West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday.

Manchester United has moved to refute any speculation suggesting the imminent appointment of Zinedine Zidane with rumors of Jose Mourinho's imminent sack intensifying. The Portuguese manager, who oversaw his side fall in the Carabao Cup against Derby County on Tuesday, saw his week turn for the worst in a visit to the London Stadium on Saturday.

Prior to the encounter, the former Chelsea manager dominated headlines following a huge fallout with Paul Pogba which resulted in the Frenchman losing his vice-captaincy. With the storm cloud yet to clear, the Manchester United saw their plight deepened as they fell to a disappointing 3-1 defeat against West Ham in the English Premier League.

With the 20-time English champions recording its worst top-flight start since 1989-1990, many fans have already called for the signing of Zinedine Zidane while one of Jose Mourinho's foot is seemingly perceived to be outside. The French manager is currently unassigned having left Real Madrid prior to the beginning of the new season.

However, according to UK tabloid Mirror, the claim that Zidane has been approached to take over from Jose Mourinho was tagged as "rubbish" by a senior source at Manchester United.

The reason for this is that the chief executive of the club Ed Woodward is not interested in making a third managerial appointing following the retirement of Sir. Alex Ferguson. As a result, Jose Mourinho will be given more time to make amends as soon as possible at Manchester United.

With three wins, three defeats and a draw to the club's name, they momentarily sit in 10th place. The Old Trafford outfit will take on Newcastle at home in its next Premier League outing.
