The Brazilian goalkeeper also opened up about his blunder in the Premier League clash with Leicester.

When Philippe Coutinho left Liverpool last January, he incurred the wrath of the Anfield faithful, as a key player walked out of the club midway through the season. However, the Reds fared quite well, reaching the Champions League final a few months after seeing his departure.

Furthermore, despite leaving the Merseyside giant, Coutinho played a key role in helping the club strengthening their squad over the summer. No, this isn't about the huge fee Liverpool garnered from his sale, but it's the fact that he aided the club in securing the services of Alisson.

The new Anfield goalkeeper arrived in the Premier League over the summer after the World Cup in what was a successful transfer window for the club. After suffering under the hands of Mignolet and Karius, Klopp finally got a world-class custodian to protect the back of the net.

As per the Daily Mail, the former Roma goalkeeper revealed that Coutinho had a hand in his Liverpool switch. The Brazilian shot-stopper stated that his countryman sold him on joining Klopp's crew during the build-up to Russia 2018.

"I spoke to Coutinho before the World Cup as I knew there was interest. We talked about the regular things - the way the club is set up, the structure and the staff. But we also talked about the belief, the sort of family atmosphere at the club," Alisson confessed.

"It's not just a football club, we are one big family. He spoke highly of Jurgen and he spoke about the players.

"He said there is no vanity in the squad but it's a very ambitious squad with a strong desire to win. I saw that on the pitch last season in the Champions League semi-final.

"Our wives spoke to each other and they said they had a great time living here and we very happy. What Coutinho told me added to what I had already witnessed playing here at Anfield and it all came together and made sense."

Liverpool's number one in between the sticks also opened up about a recent Premier League blunder. In a clash with Leicester, the goalkeeper attempted a Cruyff turn inside his own box only to be dispossessed of the ball to concede his first English top-flight goal.

Alisson admitted that was not the right move to do, as his team nearly dropped points, but stressed that he is more capable of dealing with individual errors. He added: "The secret of the wise man is to learn from the errors of others.

"Unfortunately at Leicester, it was my error. I do take some risks and leave it late to play the ball but I'll stop taking these risks in the Premier League because of the different style of play."

Fans of the Merseyside giant will be hoping to avoid seeing another costly error from their goalkeeper, especially in their next game. The league leaders will travel to Chelsea in Saturday's highly-anticipated tie, with Salah and Co. eager to maintain their perfect start in the league at Stamford Bridge.
