The German shot-stopper, who has been demoted to the sub role with Liverpool after Alisson Becker's signing, faced the team's fans for the first time since May.

Loris Karius' summer was far from being a walk in the park. His mistakes in the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid led to massive criticism, and Alisson Becker's signing with Liverpool seems to be a sign of how his role with the Reds will change. Nevertheless, his first contact with Liverpool fans after his blunders in the all-important final went on quite well.

The German goalkeeper came on to substitute Alisson in the first friendly game held at Anfield prior to the start of the Premier League season, and fans showed that their "You'll Never Walk Alone" slogan applies to the shot-stopper more than ever, as they welcomed him with a standing ovation as he got near the touchline.

The goalkeeper, who had been quite active on social media since the UCL final back in May, thanked the team's fans for their support, especially since this season will be quite complicated for him due to Alisson's arrival.
