The AC Milan manager has had a say on the future of the club's skipper.

Gennaro Gattuso has indicated that AC Milan will do whatever it takes to hold onto Leonardo Bonucci who is yet to commit his future to the Rossoneri. The 31-year-old defender joined the San Siro outfit in a shock €42 million move from Juventus last summer and has since been a very important personality in the dressing room.

However, keen interests from Manchester United and French champions Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly unsettled the player and the speculation of his imminent move away heightens by the day. Having featured in AC Milan's pre-season friendly triumph over Novara on Friday, the Rossoneri skipper was commended by his boss Gattuso for his professionalism and show of character.

The latter, nonetheless, failed to confirm whether his star defender will still be a Rossoneri come the start of the 2018/2019 Serie A season.

“I’ve talked to him. Leo’s a great professional and an incredible player, but we must listen to the players too. After that, we’ll see.

“I can only speak well of him until now, for what he’s given and giving, but at certain times choices must be respected: when a footballer behaves like a great guy, there will never be any grudge on my part.

“He wants to win, but so do we. I know what we said and the club know what we said. Now we wait because he’s an important player, who we want to keep at all costs.”

With CAS overturning their previous ruling against AC Milan featuring in this season’s Europa League, losing Leonardo Bonucci will certainly be a huge blow. PSG is reportedly in the loop readying a €40 million bid to renuite the defender with his former teammate Gianluigi Buffon.
