Will Chelsea’s new signing Fernando Torres ever stop irritating Liverpool fans? The so-called traitor has expressed his desire to grab at least a goal in Sunday’s Chelsea vs Liverpool match.
Fernando Torres wasn’t allowed to feature for the Blues in Tuesday night’s English Premier League match against Sunderland because of some regulations. But the ex-Liverpool star should be able to make his debut this weekend against, ironically, his former club.

Some players encounter emotional problems to score and celebrate against a team where they once were. But for Fernando Torres, the issue is totally different. A new “top level” life has begun at Stamford Bridge for the player and he is ready to mark this new chapter in his career with a goal for Chelsea on Sunday.

“I have been very happy there [at Liverpool]. But now, the history is different and I’m playing for Chelsea,” Fernando Torres was quoted as saying by The Sun.

“If I have the chance to play, I’ll do my best for Chelsea and hopefully I can score.”

Chelsea’s hopes of challenging for the English Premier League title have experienced a revival after winning 3 matches on the trot. The Blues are well in the top 4 zone but still 10 points off the leaders Manchester United.

With 14 match-days to go before the English Premier League ends this season, only few may suggest that Chelsea’s title hopes are truly dead. Sunday’s match against Liverpool will present the Blues with an immense opportunity to keep the momentum alive and Fernando Torres is ready to kill the Merseyside Reds and give life to the English Premier League defending champions.
