A Liverpool player has slammed Fernando Torres who wants to quit Anfield for Chelsea. This transfer issue has been mocked by the unnamed man who revealed that Torres has never been loved anyways.
It looks like the Spaniard is increasingly feeling frustrated at Liverpool as the team is struggling to compete for honours. Fernando Torres hit 50 goals in only 72 matches for the Merseyside Reds following his dream move from Atletico Madrid to Liverpool as he instantly became a fans favourite.

The number 9 striker got perceived as the perfect player to boost the Reds’ chances of conquering any team and competitions. However, injury worries affected his playing time at Liverpool and as the clock keeps ticking, Fernando Torres seems to be increasingly annoyed about the club’s struggles to achieve high standards.

Recently, reports from the English media claimed that the ex-Atletico skipper made a transfer request which got rejected by Liverpool following Chelsea’s public interest in the player’s services. This transfer news evidently provoked anger and disappointment among Liverpool fans towards the ‘disrespectful’ Torres.

Now a Liverpool player, whose identity hasn’t been revealed, has added his voice to the ones that are slamming the Spanish striker’s behaviour.

“His efforts for the team this season under Roy Hodgson made everyone notice [that he wants to quit Anfield],” the unnamed player told the Daily Mail.

“On the pitch, he would definitely play for himself rather than for the team. Even the real pros like Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher noticed that.

“But, when Torres is in top form, you would forgive him for anything. He has always been a complex character. He is so naturally gifted that he has always been totally self-absorbed.

“For the first year, we would put his quietness down to lack of fluent English. But then, he would come with some perfect words – which made you realize that he understood what was going on all the time!

“He’s always been admired by his team mates – but not loved. He hasn’t endeared himself in the way that Pepe Reina has, for example.”

Fernando Torres will break the hearts of Liverpool fans if he indeed joins arch-rivals Chelsea - a team against which he has scored a good number of crucial goals. In truth, how many players put loyalty above success during difficult periods with their club?
