Manchester City player Nigel De Jong believes team mate Carlos Tevez is as important to the Blues as Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo was for Manchester United in the past.
Comparing any football player to a superstar such as Ronaldo is usually something daring, but Nigel saw no harm in declaring something he considered as a fact. Speaking to Man City’s official website, the midfielder said:

"He (Tevez) is a special kind of player... You don't see that very often these days: a guy who can decide a game by popping up from nothing, even when you don't start the game that well.

“You had that with (Cristiano) Ronaldo at (Manchester) United, with the same quality, and we (Man City) have it with Carlos.”

De Jong however underlined the efforts of all the Argentine’s colleagues at the Eastlands club which helped the team stay on its progressing path. He continued:

“(Tevez) He is a tremendous player but he knows that he needs his colleagues on the pitch. That makes us dangerous to every opponent... If it isn't Carlos it will be someone else who steps up, maybe (Edin) Dzeko or David (Silva).”

Tevez is currently linked with a move to Real Madrid. The striker is however now concentrating on fulfilling the dream of the Citizens: winning the Premier League this season.
