The Algerian did not travel with Leicester for their clash with Everton as he seeks to force an Etihad Stadium switch.

Man City is fighting against the clock in their attempts to sign Riyad Mahrez. The Algerian ace is eager to join the Citizens, with Guardiola’s side having already seen three previous bids fail.

According to Sky Sports, the Premier League leader has made a final bid for the Algerian on Deadline Day. The League Cup finalist has reportedly made a player-plus –cash offer estimated to be worth $92.5m.

That Man City player remains unknown, but Leicester City is considering the offer as per Sky Sports’ report. Mahrez has handed in a transfer request and has his heart set on a King Power Stadium, meaning cashing in on him could be the best option for the Foxes.

The 26-year-old has angered the club and its players by failing to travel with the squad for their crucial clash with Everton.  His team-mates are “angry and upset” with him, as Leicester is believed to be unaware of his whereabouts.

City’s late interest in the Premier League winner comes as no surprise. German starlet Leroy Sane suffered an ankle injury in the FA Cup clash with Cardiff resulting in a six-week sideline.

With both Sane and Gabriel Jesus out, Pep knows an attacking addition is required to cast away fears of a slip-up in the Premier League title race.  The table-topper enjoys a 12-point lead over second-placed Man United, but nothing can be taken for granted.
