According to The Times, Los Blancos are ready to establish a new record in order to secure the signing of the English striker.

Real Madrid's attempts to revamp their strikers' department are set to establish a new record, as Los Blancos are getting ready to splash cash to sign Harry Kane.

Tottenham's top scorer has been linked all season with a move to the Bernabeu, but no amount of money had been revealed on the potential transfer.

On Monday, a report by The Times revealed that Real Madrid is getting ready to pay Tottenham a whopping €226M (around $276 million) for the player's services, blasting the highest fee paid by any club in the world to incorporate any player.

Kane has scored 128 goals in 192 games played for Spurs. As of now, he's the team's all-time top scorer in the Premier League.

Despite Real Madrid's interest, Tottenham won't make it easy for Los Blancos to sign the player, since Daniel Levy wishes to keep Kane and his boss Mauricio Pochettino around for the next season, especially with Tottenham getting ready to open their new stadium.

Even so, if the Spanish giants are really interested in signing the player, they will surely push hard to get him, just like when they went the last mile to sign Gareth Bale on a record fee and Luka Modric, both former Tottenham players.
