Team news

There remains a lot to play for in this World Cup 2nd leg playoff. With their previous meeting ending in a 0-0 draw, joy and heartbreak are possibilities for both sides.

Martin O’Neil will luckily have an identical squad to pick from the reverse fixture. As many as eight players were on yellow cards and at risk of being suspended for the 2nd leg, but none were booked.

Since the Republic of Ireland will be playing at home, O’Neil’s side will be more adventurous in attack. As a result, Shane Long could start and lead the search for goals.

As for the away side, Christian Eriksen will be the man everyone looks to for inspiration despite going under the radar in the goalless draw. Elsewhere, Nicklas Bendtner could spearhead the Danes attack as they aim for an away win.
