The transfer window isn’t even in full swing, yet business is being done in the Premier League nonetheless. The latest huge transfer rumor coming out of the English top-flight surrounds Bernardo Silva.
The Monaco sensation, highly sought after due to his heroics en route to the Ligue 1 title, is in Manchester to complete his move. The Portuguese playmaker has snubbed United in favor of rivals Man City.
This is according to the Daily Mail, claiming that the 22-year-old arrived in Manchester on Thursday night. The midfielder will reportedly put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Etihad.
After scoring 11 goals and assisting 10 in a season which saw Les Rouge et Blanc win the French league and reach the Champions League semi-final, Silva will now cost the Citizens £61m – a club record.
Mourinho was also interested in the former Benfica ace, but Guardiola went all out for the Monaco playmaker after seeing first-hand the devastation he can cause. Silva was one of many Monaco players to have shined in their Champions League triumph over Man City.
More of Jardim’s players could follow Bernardo to the Etihad. Pep is reportedly interested in Fabinho and Benjamin Mendy, as the Spanish tactician looks to rebuild his leaky defense in time for next season.
