Pep Guardiola has provided the latest injury update on Gabriel Jesus, and it is good news for Man City fans.

Manchester City star forward Gabriel Jesus could return from injury earlier than expected, Pep Guardiola has confirmed. The Brazilian starlet needed surgery after injurying his metatarstal in February and was expected to be out of action for the rest of the season.

But according to the Spanish tactician, the fan-favorite starlet could return earlier than expected. The teenage sensation, who joined the Citizens from Brazilian outfit Palmeiras, is reportedly walking without crutches. The Daily Mail quotes Pep as saying:

''He (Jesus) was in New York. It was freezing. He told me that. The crutches are gone. He has started to walk and hopefully he can come back to the pitches and start to run.

''Hopefully he can help us in the last games of the season and come back for us in the pre-season.''

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager also added that apart from Ilkay Gundogan, the Sky Blues did not have any other injury concern. He said:

''Apart from Gundogan and Jesus everyone is okay.(Pablo) Zabaleta as well. They are not top, top perfect but yes.''

The Citizens travel to the Emirates stadium on Sunday to face rivals Arsenal in the Premier League. A win could see City the second position on the log if Spurs lose to Burnley at Turf Moor.
