One of the Gunners' biggest supporters group publicly admitted that they feel it's time for Le Prof to go.

Arsene Wenger continues to lose support. The fans endured a love-hate relationship with their manager, but the Frenchman no longer boasts the backing of its influential supporters’ group: Arsenal Supporters’ Trust.

AST, a group with around 1,000 members, saw 78 percent of their members vote in favor of Le Prof leaving the club this summer. Only 15 percent were for extending the Frenchman’s expiring contract.

The number of people against Wenger signing a new deal is astonishing, given that the AST were mainly behind Wenger almost two years ago. In a survey in the summer of 2015, 86 percent wanted the 67-year-old to remain on board.

The main reason for fans turning on the legendary manager is due to embarrassing results – both domestically and in Europe. The north London outfit suffered another round of 16 Champions League exit, losing 10-2 on aggregate to Bayern Munich.

In the Premier League, a string of losses have seen the Gunners drop out of the top four. Currently in fifth, Arsenal could find themselves lower down the standings, as they play Man City next.

AST have now requested that the Arsenal board not offer Wenger a new deal. “In light of these survey results the AST now calls on Arsenal’s Board not to renew Arsène Wenger’s contract at the end of the 2016-17 season,” they stated.

“A substantial majority of our members believe he is no longer the right person to take the club forward. We are confident this is an accurate reflection of the wider fanbase.”

Wenger is expected to stay, however. Several reports claim that a two-year extension has already been agreed, with only an announcement remaining.
