Coach Bruce Arena has some serious selection headache coming into this match. The MNT has numerous injuries, something that limits Arena's options.
So far, Sebastian Lletget, Jordan Morris and John Brook are all unavailable for selection. The same case applies to Michael Orozco, who is also set to miss out due to injury. But not all news from the MNT camp is negative; Jermaine Jones is set to return after serving his one-match ban.
Thanks to his impressive display against Honduras last Friday, BVB midfielder Christian Pulisic could retain his position in the first 11. The speedy youngster is expected to supply balls to the attacking duo of Clint Dempsey and Michael Bradley.

This will not be the first time the Canal Men play their CONCACAF counterparts. The two sides first clashed in 1993 when USMNT won 2-1 at home. Since then, they have played each other 17 times with MNT winning 13 times, drawing twice and losing twice.
Hernan Gomez's side have conceded 36 goals from Arena's men, and scored 14 in the process since their 1993 meeting. Having failed to win their last two qualifier games, the hosts will be hoping to pull a suprise agains the visitors, who are fresh from hammering Honduras 6-0. This will be a tough match for both sides, particularly the visitors due to the away atmosphere and the long list of injuries in their camp.
