Champions League football is back, with four round of 16 clashes set to be played on Tuesday and Wednesday. These are the return fixtures, meaning two quarter-finalists will have emerged once this week of games are completed.
On Tuesday, Bayern Munich make the trip to London to face off with Arsenal. Whilst Carlo Ancelotti’s boys are flying high en route to possibly another Bundesliga title, the Gunners are in the midst of another crisis.
With Alexis Sanchez destined to leave this summer, the cries for Arsene Wenger’s resignation have increased. The north London outfit trail their German counterparts 5-1, and are thus 90 minutes away from elimination.
The other game on that very same day will be between Napoli and Real Madrid. The Champions League holders travel to Italy with a 3-1 advantage and with Cristiano back in their squad, but a recent dip in form could hamper their chances of progressing.
Barcelona have to wait until Wednesday before taking the field. They also have a heavy task on their hands, as they host PSG with a 4-0 deficit. The Blaugrana completely collapsed in the first-leg, but a string of impressive wins leading up to this game should have Messi and Co. in high spirits.
BVB will be in action on the same day as the Catalan giants. They welcome Benfica to the Signal Iduna Park with every chance of making the next round, given that they only need to overturn a 1-0 deficit.
