Team news
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid will lock horns in a highly-anticipated Copa del Rey clash. These two clubs enter this clash on the back of disappointing results in the Spanish Primera Division.
Luis Enrique’s boys lost further ground in the title race after failing to beat Real Betis in La Liga. The Catalan giants were denied a goal and thus settled for a 1-1 draw. Diego Simeone’s side also drew, escaping from their clash with Deportivo Alaves with a point.
The visitors will be hoping to get the upper hand on Wednesday ahead of the return leg at Camp Nou, but might struggle in the absence of two key midfielders: Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta. Lucas Digne is another injured player for Barcelona.
Jasper Cillessen will likely start in goal, whilst Rafinha, having returned from injury, is fit and ready to feature.
Diego Simeone will be without Jose Gimenez, with Stefan Savic likely to deputize. Given the importance of this fixture, Ferreira Carrasco and Antoine Griezmann could start.
