But now that the reds face their fierce rivals Man Utd on Sunday, Klopp may want to be careful with his selection for the EFL Cup tie. Philippe Coutinho has been training with the club since recovering from injury and could get a starting role here to gauge his fitness ahead of the derby on Sunday. Loris Karius is also expected to start between the posts.

Match forecast
Southampton come into this clash having won only two of their last nine lague games in all competitions. But this should not be a huge problem for the Saints as they face a Livepool side that could field an average squad. Jurgen Klopp's selection headache could work against him here and that is what Claude Puel needs to take advantage of.
And to make things even easier for the St. Mary's outfit, they will be playing at home where they have lost only three matches this season, something that should give them a reason to dissapoint Klopp's men with a huge margin to avoid going down in the return leg at Anfield.
