Manchester United hoping to close the gap

So far, Manchester United have won their past five games on the trot. This has seen the Red Devils right the ship, but Jose Mourinho's men still have a long ways to go if they want to break into the top four. A title challenge is still well out of their reach as Chelsea have won their past 13 league games and right now, the Blues are simply unstoppable. However, given the fact that the Red Devils have largely underachieved since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement back in 2013, it's still a rebuilding period for the Manchester giants and right now, the Premier League does have somewhat of a power vacuum after Leicester City managed to shock everyone to win the title last season.

Manchester United spent quite a pretty penny this summer to bolster the squad, and fans will be expecting the club's big signings to pay off. Paul Pogba, the club's record signing did have some early season struggles since returning from Juventus, but finally appears to be getting settled, whilst Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who arrived on a free, has largely silenced most of his critics (although there are still some, namely Michael Owen, who still can't keep from talking) due to his impressive showings in his debut season - despite his advancing years.

West Ham, who impressed last term, have been quite unlucky with injuries, and come into this game having improved somewhat over the past few months. However, Slaven Bilic's lads still will have quite a few faces not available due to an still ongoing injury crisis, and this is something that the visiting Red Devils will want to take advantage of if they want to keep working their way up the league table.
