Diego Simeone can rest a few of his key players, because progression is all but secured. Not only do the Madrid giants have the home advantage, but they also boast a 6-0 aggregate from the first-leg.
Gabi, Diego Godín, Antoine Griezmann have been rested, the latter of which has been struggling with form. The Frenchman, despite being one of the best players in 2016 – hence his The Best FIFA Men’s Player nod – hasn’t found the back of the net for Atletico in La Liga in ages.
Jan Oblak, Augusto Fernández, Filipe Luís and Tiago – all injured – also won’t feature. A strong lineup can be expected, though, as Koke, Saul, Carrasco,Torres, and Gameiro were all named in the squad.
