The Welsh star left the pitch during the game against Sporting on Tuesday after a hard knock to his ankle. Medical reports

Real Madrid can't seem to get a break from their injury woes, as Gareth Bale will add his name to the injury list following Tuesday's UCL clash.

The Welsh star has been ruled out for the next four weeks, with the possibility of undergoing surgery to correct a problem in his right ankle.

"After tests carried out on our player Gareth Bale at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, he has been diagnosed with a traumatic dislocation of the peroneal tendons of his right ankle. His recovery will continue to be assessed," stated a press release published on Real Madrid's official website.

Bale left the pitch on his own after a hard challenge was overlooked by the ref.

The Welsh ace has cemented his reputation as perhaps one of the most consistent players in Zinedine Zidane's squad. Bale has scored seven goals across all competitions, and his influence in the team's general performance has been crucial due to Cristiano Ronaldo's up and coming form.

Bale will also miss the UEFA Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund, where Los Blancos need a win to secure the top spot of their Group.
