Match facts

  • Both sides are through to the next round, but the winner of this match will be guaranteed a first spot finish regardless of the final group stage game.
  • The 1-1 draw in their meeting in Paris was only their third encounter in history.
  • Those two fixtures came in a semi-final clash in the 93/94 European Cup Winners' Cup.
  • They drew 1-1 in France before the Gunners won 1-0 in London.
  • The north London outfit’s home have lost seven and won eight of their last 15 home games in this competition.
  • Les Parisiens have only won one away game vs. an English club in eight attempts (D3, L4).
  • Unai Emery’s boys are unbeaten in nine games, eight of which ended in victory.

The winner takes all, but who will triumph?

Both sides are through to the next round, but there is an extra bonus on the table for whoever wins on Wednesday: finishing as group winners. Arsenal know all too well of the importance of finishing first.

The Gunners have crashed out of the tournament in the round of 16 in each of the last five seasons. The most common reason for that was their failure to top their group, resulting in a tough fixture in the knockout stage.

Wenger’s boys have only one win in November so far, but will need to rekindle their excellent form in order to beat PSG. The north London outfit have lost three previous home ties with French clubs, but their five wins overshadows that tally.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, they have several key players out injured. Leading the pack is Hector Bellerin, who picked up a knock to his ankle in the international break. He will be joined on the sidelines by Santi Cazorla (Achilles), Lucas Perez (knee), and long-term absentees Mertesacker and Welbeck.

PSG also have their own worries. Playmaker Angel Di Maria is a doubt for the trip to London, whilst Pastore, Kurzawa, and Rabiot are out injured. Serge Aurier is unavailable after he was denied entry into England due to his suspended jail sentence.
