French striker Antoine Griezmann has officially received his Euro 2016 Player of the Tournament award.

The prestigious award was presented to him moments before the France vs Bulgaria World Cup Qualifier clash. The Atletico Madrid forward had a brilliant outing with Les Blues over the summer, steering them into the finals of the competition where they lost to Portugal. He wrapped up the tournament with six goals and two assists.

According to UEFA, the 25-year-old won the award after being vetted by a 13-man panel of technical observers, which included the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, David Moyes, Alain Giresse, Mixu Paatelainen, Packie Bonner, Peter Rudbaek, Thomas Schaaf, Gines Melendez, Jean-Francois Domergue and Jean-Paul Brigger.

And moments after receiving the award, Griezmann scored a goal to put France three goals up against Bulgaria, who had taken an early lead in the first six minutes thanks to Bacary Sagna’s foul inside the box. The ex-Real Sociedad man has now scored 13 goals in 36 appearances for Les Bleus since 2014.
