One of the Premier League's longest-serving managers could sign a new deal with his club.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could stay at the Emirates for at least six more years, according to a report published on the Daily Mail.

The English publication claims that the Frenchman has been offered a new contract extension after celebrating his 20th anniversary with the Gunners on Saturday. But the former Monaco man is reluctant to sign the deal, according to the report.

This comes at a time when the 66-year-old has been linked with the England national football team job. He has been reportedly shortlisted as one of the most probable candidates after Sam Allardyce’s sacking. The former Sunderland boss was fired by the FA last week for disclosing private information to a third party without the federation’s consent.

And speaking ahead of their Premier League match against Burnley on Sunday, Wenger admitted that he would love to stay in England. He described the country as a ‘paradise’ for football, something that could put the FA on high alert as the search for the next Three Lions’ manager continues. He told reporters:

''I’m here for 20 years. Twenty years, always sold out. Where do you find that? Nowhere.

''(It is) the passion for me. It’s paradise for football. It’s as simple as that.

''It’s a country that has a real passion for being together at the spectacle. And football is the biggest one in England.

''If you look at the Olympic Games, England was always sold out. If you look at the darts, it’s sold out. It’s love. They love it.''

The French tactician joined Arsenal in 1996 and has steered them to 1,129 league games, 467 wins, 263 draws and 219 wins. With the Gunners, he has won the Premier League thrice, the FA Cup six times and the Community Shield six times.
