Team news

Both teams head into Saturday’s fixture on the back of victories, with Arsenal and Chelsea winning against Nottingham Forest and Leicester, respectively. Unfortunately, both teams have to make do with key absentees.

Wenger continues to be without captain Per Mertesacker, whilst both Danny Welbeck and Carl Jenkinson are on the road to recovery. Furthermore, Arsene revealed that Aaron Ramsey will not feature until after the upcoming international break.

Striker Olivier Giroud is a doubt, meaning League Cup hero Lucas Perez could start. Of course, there is the possibility that Le Prof goes with Alexis Sanchez as the lone striker once more.

Antonio Conte has his own worries, though, as captain John Terry is nowhere near a return. The Italian boss stated, as per Chelsea’s official website: “John Terry is working hard but he didn’t recover for the game against Arsenal. I don’t know when he will play because it is important what the player feels, and the pain he feels.”

The English center-back is joined by Kurt Zouma. This means that the Blues have to revert to a back four which has conceded two goals in each of their last three games.
