There's just one problem: that's not the Manchester United star.

On Saturday, one lady by the Facebook name of “Cinderella Stephen” made a life-pro tip post on social media, using Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba as the central theme. And although the post was undeniably inspirational, it was completely false.

In the post, “Cinderella” tackled the issue of true love regardless of one’s financial status, pleading with people not to avoid marrying jobless men. In her post, she used a story of Pogba’s rags-to-riches story as a perfect example.

The post went viral, with over 1400 shares at the time of writing this article. However, there is one problem: the former Juventus ace didn’t endure poverty whilst growing up. It is well-known that the 23-year-old – born in Siene-et-Marne, France – was playing academy football for a club called US Roissy-en-Brie at the age of six.

The Frenchman eventually joined US Torcy, a top youth academy, before sealing a move to Le Havre a year later. From there, Pogba joined the Premier League, left England, and then came back but for huge – and we mean HUGE – price.

Who’s the picture of that young boy in the Pogba post then? Most probably a lookalike, but it’s clear that unprivileged youngster isn’t the world’s most expensive player.

Pogba made his second debut for the Red Devils in their 2-0 win over Southampton and will (obviously) feature in their next game, against Hull City.
