Puyol remembers WC semi-final goal vs Germany with SM posts; French fans applaud

The former center back remembered the all-important goal on social media, referring to the date as 'one of the most important accomplishments in his career'.

Spain may be out of the UEFA Euro title race, but that's not a good reason to look back at what they did in recent years.

One of those players that gave La Roja International dominance celebrated today's Throwback Thursday by remembering one of his crucial goals. Carles Puyol took Facebook and Twitter by storm and recalled that, on this day, six years ago, he scored the game-winning goal against Germany in the World Cup semi-finals.

"Six years ago, I scored one of the most important goals of my career, #tbt"

If that wasn't enough, Puyol posted the same message on his Twitter feed, sparking all sorts of reactions from his followers.

His Facebook post earned more than 22K likes and 575 comments, including some by French fans who want their team to do the same today against Die Mannschaft.
