Napoli are aiming to put an end to their winless run in the Europa League when they’ll take on Liverpool at Anfield on Thursday night. Coach Mazzarri and midfielder Hamsik are up for the challenge.
Group K has Napoli seating in second place behind Liverpool going into match-day 4. Only 2 points separate the two teams who drew 0-0 in Italy two weeks ago and the Italians are looking to occupy the table’s top spot at the end of the day.

Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri is intending to take tonight’s match away to Liverpool as an opportunity to make a turning point in his side’s Europa League campaign. Although the Merseyside Reds are poised to make the most of their historic home advantage and record in Europe, Coach Mazzarri remains positive ahead of the match as he told Eurosport:

“It’s an important match and we want to give it our best shot. Since the start of the competition, we’ve only gotten three draws in Europe.

“It’s a good start [to be undefeated], but we will be giving it our all to make our fans happy. I expect Liverpool to be full of enthusiasm and we’ll have to be on our guard. We’ll have to keep them at bay in the first few minutes.”

Like Coach Mazzarri, Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik is fired up for tonight’s Europa League match at Anfield. The Slovakian is rumored to be on Manchester United’s radar and Italian media La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that the player will be observed by Fergie’s scouts during the Liverpool game. Hamsik is reportedly enjoy the attention which he has been receiving lately on the transfer market front, and he is determined to make the most of his presence against Liverpool.

“I feel like there’s a special tension. I can’t hide this,” Hamsik told the press.

“But, I’m calm and I’m motivated to put in a good performance. Playing against Liverpool at Anfield is a huge and beautiful thing. We hope that in future, we will play games of this nature as much as possible.”
