Vicente del Bosque's men have been pounded with criticism after the Spaniards finished as runners-up of UEFA Euro 2016 Group D. However, the Chelsea midfielder has made it clear that the criticism no longer bothers him.
Speaking with 'Tiempo de Juego' on Cadena COPE, Fabregas said:
"I don't feel challenged because I don't look at what is said [about me], these things don't affect me.
"What matters to me is to play and feel the support of my team-mates."
After Spain lost in their final group stage match against Croatia, many began to doubt Del Bosque's tactics. Yet, the 29-year-old former Blaugrana acknowledged the importance of their head coach and what he has given Spain over the years.
"I noticed that Vicente is very calm, more than ever. I see he's very well in training and preparing for games; he's not tired.
"I would say to Villar that Del Bosque has to remain [as coach], he's given us a lot, likes football and people are loyal to him."
The Spanish international also admitted the game against Italy will be a tough challenge, but believes his side have all the right ingredients to beat the Azzurri.
"It will be very difficult because against Italy we've always had evenly matched games, but Spain have to what it takes to win."
