British publication the Daily Mirror has published a report claiming that former Man United manager Louis Van Gaal found that he was set to lose his job a couple of weeks ago. But is not the surprising part; online publication reports that former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was the one who personally delivered the message to the embattled Dutchman.
The 53-year-old allegedly made a phone call to the ex-Bayern Munich boss to inform him that he had been contacted by Man United to become his successor. Although LVG had ignored the pressure to have him sacked, insisting that he would see through his three-year-contract with the Red Devils, Mourinho’s call seemed to have opened the Dutchman’s eyes.
But why did Mou, of all other people, call LVG to inform him in advance about the latest development? Here’s the answer;

Therefore, to make sure that there was no bad feeling between the two old friends, Mou thought it would be wise to call his friend prior to the club’s official announcement. And true to the word, the ex-Ajax boss was sacked by the Red Devils on Monday, and reports all over England suggest that Mourinho is now poised to take over, with no ill-feelings between the two.
