Pep Guardiola's side has been knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage for the third consecutive time, and Bayern midfielder Arturo Vidal did not have nice words for the finalists.

After losing to Atletico Madrid on away goals, the Chilean footballer slammed Diego Simeone's men for their style of play.

"We were superior, we controlled the game, but we did not finish off the chances we had. Atletico did exactly what they have been doing all year in their league and took advantage of their chances."

He added, "Today ugly football - Atletico - played against the best football in the world,he added. The only time they saw the ball was for the goal."

Vidal's team completely dominated the second leg at the Allianz Arena with 72.5 per cent possession and a total of 33 attempts on goal, but it just wasn't enough to take down the Spanish giants, as the 28-year old continued to slam La Liga side.

"They are going to be dreaming about us right up to the final. They did not have the ball, they took on the best team in the world, they took their chances and got to the final."

"The best does not always win in football, like today. They are not deserved finalists."
