The Spaniard had a message for those who questioned whether his Allianz Arena reign was a failure.

On Tuesday, Pep Guardiola watched his chances of winning the Champions League with Bayern Munich in his last season in charge of the Bavarians go up in flames, as the 2-1 win over Atletico wasn’t enough to secure their spot in the final.

The Bundesliga giants crashed out of Europe in the semi-final for the third time straight time under the Spaniard’s tutelage, as they missed out on a ticket to Milan due to an away goal courtesy of Antoine Griezmann.

However, the Man City-bound tactician was adamant that he had done everything to win the prize for die Roten for the first time since 2013, admitting to the press that he gave it his all to clinch the Champions League.

Guardiola said: “The players know this, but for everyone else, I’ve tried my best. I have given my life for these players, this club, from the first minute until the last.”
