Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge could be on his way out of Anfield.

Daniel Sturridge has hinted that he could leave Liverpool in search of first team football. The injury-prone but lethal forward was speaking during an interview with The Mirror. In the interview, he revealed that he would be lying if he promised to stay at the Merseyside club, but did not explain exactly when he could leave.

He said:

''There are things I want to achieve with Liverpool,

''[But] I would never say I am Liverpool until I die, because I would be lying.

''I think any player who says, "Oh yeah, this is the only team I will play for, for the rest of my life", they are deluded. In football, every team looks for replacements every single year.''

The England international has been hit by a series of injuries, something that has kept him out of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the better part of the season. He was unused during Liverpool 1-0 defeat to Villarreal in the Europa League last Thursday despite declaring himself fit to play.

But the former Chelsea man has proven to be ruthless in front of goal despite the injury setbacks. This season alone, he has netted 11 times for the Kops in 22 appearances.

Back in 2014, he formed a deadly partnership with Luis Suarez up front, a performance that nearly steered Liverpool to Premier League glory. In that season, he scored 21 league goals but has since failed to rediscover his form after Suarez’s departure. Earlier this year, there were several reports linking him with a move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain, and his latest revelation could trigger Les Parisiens’ interest.

Jurgen Klopp's side travel to the Liberty Stadium to face Swansea City before hosting Villarreal on Thursday at Anfield for the return leg of the UEFA Europa League semi-final clash.
