The Spanish striker will not be available for Chelsea's games against Aston Villa tomorrow and next week's clash against Swansea.

Diego Costa couldn't escape a lengthier ban from the FA after his antics against Everton, and the Spaniard will also have to pay a hefty fine for his actions.

The Football Association issued a press release today revealing that the Brazilian-born striker will have to pay a £20,000 fine and will also have to serve an additional one match ban for "improper conduct".

Costa had already been slapped with a one match ban after being sent off against Everton, but his argument with the game's ref and the suppossed bite against Gareth Barry forced the FA to open a new investigation. Later that day, Barry denied Costa tried to hurt him, but it didn't help the former Atletico Madrid player.

Costa was really upset after Barry tackled him during the matchup between Chelsea & Everton on March 12.

The FA has also warned Costa about future incidents, hinting that he won't be subject to the usual sanctions if he gets involved in such an argument later this season.

Ever since he joined Chelsea last season, Costa has made a name for himself on and off the pitch, with continuous arguments against opponents and referees. He was handed a three-match ban by the FA's Regulatory Commission for stomping on Martin Skrtel's leg during last year's Capital One Cup semi-finals, and during the first semester of the season he was handed a three-match ban after being sent off against Arsenal and getting into a physical argument with defender Gabriel Paulista.
