Real Madrid tactician Zinedine Zidane has hit out at the club’s fans who want Cristiano Ronaldo sold.

There have been several reports in Spain suggesting that Los Blancos have a master plan for next season which includes offloading the Portuguese forward. The reports further suggest that the Real Madrid manager is looking at building next season’s squad around Gareth Bale.

Ronaldo was booed in the early minutes of the match between Real Madrid and Celta Vigo but he managed to rub off the negativity by scoring four goals as Zidane’s side thrashed the minnows 7-1.

Speaking after the match, the former France international was asked by journalists whether he thought it would be a good idea to sell the former Man United man as he was increasingly become unpopular among the fans at Santiago Bernabeu.

He responded:

"There are fans who want Ronaldo to be sold? Well I don't and I'm the coach

"As far as the whistles go, they did it to me too... to everyone."

Despite having scored 352 goals in 335 appearances for Los Blancos in all competitions since he moved from Old Trafford to the Santiago Bernabeu, some Real Madrid fans are still not impressed by the 31-year-old.

Maybe, this could have something to do with his attitude, especially after he was recently accused of blaming his teammates for not being up to his standards. Whether or not he will be offloaded at the end of the season, one thing is very clear; Ronaldo has managed to silence his critics by converting himself into a goal-scoring beast.

Los Blancos are preparing to face AS Roma in the return leg of their Champions League last round of 16 fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu. Ronaldo scored a stunner in Real Madrid's 2-0 first leg win at Stadio Olimpico.
